Our Review of the Tike Tech Trax360 Double stroller

ON SALE for $319.99! Regularly priced at $399.99. Save $80 (20%)

Tike Tech continues to impress with light, quality strollers at a reasonable price. The Tike Tech Trax 360 Double is a very responsive double stroller - built on a lightweight frame, with dual swivel wheels, and two supportive seats - that turns on a dime. Also, the Trax 360 Double is one of the lightest, and least expensive, swivel wheel double jogging strollers we offer.

What does the Tike Tech Trax 360 offer you?

The all-terrain Tike Tech Trax 360 Double stroller may not provide as many features as some double strollers, such as a parent console or suspension system. All the same the small auto-locking fold and oversized individual sun canopies provide everything you need to maneuver two kids (or maybe one and some extra gear) through the concrete jungle.

Parents can get their Trax 360 Double walking stroller in and out of the trunk or closet easily, thanks to its small fold and lightweight frame. Thanks it its narrow profile, the Trax 360 Double is very easy to get through doors. On rough terrain or uneven streets, the front swivel wheels lock forward in a stationary position for additional control.

The Tike Tech Trax 360 Double have city dwellers in mind with slick air filled tires and a one touch rear brake that's perfect for stopping and parking on sloping city streets. Weaving through crowds at the mall or on city sidewalks is simple with swivel wheels, and the large underside basket and auxiliary storage space in the canopy and seat provide extra space for necessities both big and small.

Extra features like dual moon roofs let you peek through the oversized canopy to check on your kids, and even though there is no parent console or cupholder included, you can always purchase one separately.

What does the Tike Tech Trax 360 offer your tike?

Two babies as young as 6 weeks, or two toddlers totaling 100 lbs., can ride in total comfort in the deep, contoured and padded 'Lowride' seats of the Trax 360 Double stroller. Babies in need of some additional padding and support will be all-too-content in the Tike Tech Padded Insert.

For tired kids, this double walking stroller offers a very deep recline, providing maximum sleep-ability, and in the warmer months, the seat provides excellent ventilation. Kids of all ages love the padded, adjustable, and fully removable belly bars in the front. They can hang onto them, hang things from them, or use them to climb in and out of the seats, jungle gym style.

To make the deluxe seats of the Trax 360 Double even more comfortable, check out the Tike Tech Padded Insert

Bottom Line: The Tike Tech Trax 360 Double has everything a parent on a budget might need in a double swivel wheel stroller, minus bells and whistles. The Trax 360 Double is one of the absolute lightest all-terrain double strollers on the market, and quality will never be an issue. Sturdy, light, and reliable, the Tike Tech Trax 360 Double is an excellent double stroller for families on a budget.

The best comparisons for the Trax 360 Double would be the BOB Revolution Duallie and the Dreamer Design Manhattan Ditto. Both of these double swivel wheel jogging strollers are heavier than the Tike Tech, but the BOB Revolution Duallie has jogging potential thanks to its shocks, larger rear wheels, and adjustable front wheel tracking. The Dreamer Design Ditto Manhattan Deluxe has a bubble style canopy with more shading positions than the Trax 360 Double, and a longer warranty.

Great value for price!

My husband was hesitant to buy without being able to try, but after much internet research and looking at others that were not what we needed, we ordered online. Good decision. Spoke with Dave at company several times and he was very helpful. We've been very happy with the stroller and our boys - 13 months apart - enjoy riding. The best feature not too many other jogging strollers have is a solid back - not the sling hammock style that allows a child to slouch. My older son hated a cheaper jogger that had a soft back. On the down side, the buckles are alittle stiff and hard to get used to, but effective and certainly safe and escape proof. I would buy this again and recommend it to friends.

Great double stroller!

Reviewer: Marni Brown , Vancouver, BC Date: December 28, 2007
As an active mom of four with new twins we were in the market for a stroller with the front swivel wheel feature. We wanted a double swivel stroller because we have a double iron man which we use for the 2 older kids which has the fixed wheel. Because we wanted the swivel feature we decided to go with a stroller that has 2 front wheels instead of one front wheel which we think just feels better. This trax360 is outstanding and in no way has comprised quality. This stroller is fully loaded with all the important features we wanted in a stroller. It is fairly easy to maneuver for a larger double stroller. In particular I really like the solid seats and they do have a deep recline. I also like that the grab bar is included with the purchase which not many other double strollers seem to have. I like everything about this stroller. One silly thing that always upsets me with strollers is that the baskets are always so small. Kind of silly I know, but I have a thing for baskets and this one (hurray!) has a large basket. I do not have a single complaint. Don't be fooled into thinking this stroller is of less quality because of the affordable cost .This double stroller is great.

Best jogger we've tried

We purchased a 3 wheeler (fixed), then a non-fixed. Too many problems to list. This stroller is perfect. We use it everywhere we go. It is very easy to push from running to shopping. The width is great - fits through any door. Our kids are b/w 16# and 24# and they fit great. The only negative is that the visor doesn't help much with the sun. I would buy this one again.

Great Double stroller !

Reviewer: Anna , Atlanta,GA Date: November 23, 2007
Not all double strollers can be perfect, but this one comes in pretty close. I was surprised at how many great features this stroller has like the grab bar, independent seat recline and side canopy pockets to mention a few. Our new born fits in the stroller perfectly with the seat reclined but we do suggest adding the insert and extra head support. The stroller rolls quite nicely and is simple to fold. We purchased the Nordic Red as it is a good color for both boys and girls. Both kids seem very comfortable when riding in the stroller (our boy is 22 months and our little girl is the new born). The one suggestion I have would be to offer some kind of tray that a parent could attach to the grab bar.

Great Buy for the Price!

This is a wonderful stroller. My daughters 1 and 3 both ride comfortably and can each individually have shade or recline; which was key for us. We took it to the zoo and it maneuvered well in the crowd and we were able to get into/out of all of the buildings with no problems. However on this same trip we realized that one of our front wheels wasn't functioning properly. When we contacted Dave at Tike Tech he sent us a replacement no questions asked (since our stroller at the time was practically brand new). Their customer service was great which helps to set them apart from other companies. We also have a Phil & Teds e3 (w/ double seat) and that one is great for the mall and shopping which is not something that I would be willing to try with this one because of its size (both in the car and in the store). But this stroller is wonderful for all of your outdoor outings like the zoo or the fair or even just a daily walk or jog. One more thing, we ordered the "Green" stroller and a word of advice we wouldn't exactly call it green, maybe neon green, but my husband and I both call it yellow because to us it really does look more yellow. Either way it is REALLY BRIGHT. It's a great color for night/evening walks, just add some reflector tape and you'd be set :)

Buyer Beware

Reviewer: Anonymous , Chicago, IL Date: May 31, 2007
I have just returned my second 360 Double (bought on another websire). Dave at Tike Tech was helpful, but the issue remains unresolved: both strollers had MAJOR defects in the front wheels. If you picture a grocery cart that the wheels "vibrate and rattle" when in the wrong turn-around position, this is what happened with both of ours. You literally could not push them 15 feet without it happening. The locking mechanisms were intact, and even switching wheels, etc. did not make a difference. The lock position pulls so strongly to the right that you cannot even walk fast pushing the weight against you. After waiting for 2 backorders, I had my hopes up. But now I cannot fathom how this stroller made it past the test phases anywhere. It is a terrible flaw that renders the strollers useless.

Comments from The Staff:

Thank you so much for posting your review, we actually were contacted by Dave at Tike Tech, and he informed us that there was a batch of these joggers, whose front ends did get damaged during shipping. No worries though, this issue has been corrected, and there haven't had any problems since.

Exceeds Expectations

I have a five-month old and a just turned two year old and we love our stroller. I did a ton of research on this purchase. There is no perfect stroller, but this one comes pretty close.

My only complaint is that the canopy doesn't come down far enough, but this is easily remedied by detaching it from the stroller frame so that you can pull it down to any angle (though a bit of the material hangs down this way).

My kids are huge for their ages and there is no issue with my daughter's height- she's 3'1" now and has room to grow.

I can push this stroller on the beach in the soft sand for far enough to set up camp on the beach (this is not exactly easy, but very doable).

It really does go through doorways, even though it doesn't look like it will fit as you approach the door.

I took a chance buying a new model that hadn't been reviewed and tested much, and I'm so glad I did. I can't believe I even considered spending $200-$300 more on the really fancy models.

A Happy Picky Customer!

I recommend the Tike Tech Trax 360 Double Stroller to any mum and dad. I have a 5 month old and a 2 year old daughter and it is just a blast to go for a walk or run with them. The stroller is fun, light, sturdy, easy to maneuver, has independent canopy and the seats are also very well designed (1 regarding the seating space and comfort, 2 for sleeping position if needed). The safety features are really good too. There is plenty of pocket/space to store your keys, bags, bottle etc... No issues going through any door! I also want to mention their customer service, I had left a message for a protection pad missing, I received 3 phones calls the same day to make sure that it was taken care of, plus a follow up call to make sure i received the part. Great Design! Great Features! Great Service! THANK YOU.

Great Stroller

Reviewer: Misty , Dallas, TX Date: April 03, 2007
I bought the Trax360 Double Stroller for my 29-month-old and 6-month-old soon after it was released, so I didn't have the benefit of consumer reviews, but I have not been disappointed at all. I use this stroller for neighborhood walks and on paved walking trails.

This stroller is very light-weight (one of the, if not the, lightest double joggers that I could find) and easy to handle. The ride is very smooth. It does seem a little tall at first, but I am barely 5 ft tall and have no problems maneuvering it. It fits easily through my standard front door. My toddler loves the grab bar, and each seat has a mesh pocket to hold sippy cups (or snack cups or toys, etc). The sun shades are ample, tall enough so that my toddler has plenty of room to grow, and can be moved into almost any position by unsnapping the back (I can get full coverage even in late afternoon sun). The harness buckles are a little hard to fasten and unfasten, but they definitely seem secure?you just have to take care not to get fingers pinched (kids or parents!). I'm hoping that it gets easier the more I use it. The brake is extremely easy to use, the storage basket is large, and, although I keep the front wheels in swivel mode, I locked them when I assembled the stroller and it was very easy to do (not sure why the previous reviewer had problems). By far the best thing about this stroller is the seats. They are firm seats that sit upright and do not sink down like a lot of the double jogging strollers I looked at. Both my toddler and my baby look comfortable and are able to see without slouching or stretching. I am convinced that there is no such thing as the perfect double stroller, but overall, I have been very happy with the Trax360. In summary:

PROS:
? Very light-weight
? Grab bar
? Seat pockets hold cups
? Easy to assemble
? Great seats
? Smooth, comfortable ride

CONS:
? May seem a little tall to shorter parents (but is fine once you get used to it)
? Harness buckles are hard to snap and unsnap
