Our Review of the InSTEP Safari stroller
The InSTEP Safari Stroller is a walking stroller capable of handling any terrain at an even pace. City walkers appreciate the ease with which the Safari navigates curbs, rough sidewalks, and crowded streets while country strollers love the smooth ride over bumpy trails. The sturdy steel frame, while heavier than aluminum framed strollers, is super durable.
Standout Features:
- Plush seat and shoulder pads
- Child tray with drink holders
- 12" front swivel wheel for maneuverability and 16" rear wheels for easy pushing
- Underseat storage basket and parent console
- Adjustable height handle
- Includes Universal Car Seat Adapter
Benefits for You: At this price, what's not to love? A 12" front swivel wheel navigates the sharpest store corners while 16" rear wheels make even the bumpiest terrain feel like smooth pavement. The adjustable handlebar accommodate any size user. For parents going from city to park in the car, the Safari folds compactly with one hand and so easily fits in the trunk.
Carry all the trappings of parenting with you in the roomy underseat basket and carry everything you need immediately (cell phone, water, snack) in the parent tray. The Safari from InSTEP comes equipped with a car-seat adaptor for easy transport of baby from home to car to stroller. A parking brake ensures that stroller and baby stay put on slopes.

Benefits for Baby: Babies love going outside with their parents, and they love a walk even more when they're sitting comfortably on the removable padded seat and grabbing their favorite toy from the child tray.
In addition to the padded seat, children rest comfortably on the headrest and reclining seat. A bug screen keeps Joe Junior happy no matter the August mosquito population.
Safety:
- Parking brake
- Tether
- 5-point harness
- ASTM Certified
Bottom Line: The InSTEP Safari Stroller is a stylish stroller perfect for walking. Many parents also consider the aluminum framed Schwinn Free Wheeler AL, which features a more generous sunshade for summer walks. The Free Wheeler AL is not car seat compatible. For more bells and whistles, check out the BOB Revolution, which also features a much higher price tag.
