Our MUST HAVE Travel Item

I can't imagine flying without this! We traveled to Maui with our 8 month old and his Britax Roundabout and were able to wheel him straight through the airport. My husband carried a backpack and pushed the carseat-turned-stroller and I wheeled my carry-on suitcase. We only had to check one additional bag! We received SO many comments in the airport -- some by grandmother types who were thrilled to see how gidddy our son was at his "low-ride" stroller trip through the airport (he was grinning the whole way) and some comments from envious moms toting toddlers and car seats and strollers alongside us. The travel-mate did NOT allow us to wheel our son all the way to our seats (we'd purchased a seat for him for the 5-hour-flight). The Roundabout car seat was too wide to roll down the airplane isle. So be prepared to lug the seat once you're on the plane if it is coming with you. The travel-mate disconnected easily from the seat so we could install on the plane -- two thumb-screws and it's off. Easy-peasy. I wouldn't travel any other way.

My husband and I were trying to find a product, like this one, that would allow us to travel easier with our carseat. We had a week to find something and get it shipped so I was really excited to see that Tip Toe Turtle offered same day shipping! Love this site!
I have to say this product was incredibly helpful to us. With long delays at the airport we were able to easily keep tabs on our little guy (14 month old) without lugging both he and our bulky Britax Boulevard around. Not having to bring an additional stroller was great!! He was happy to be wheeled around the airport in his carseat. We were glad to be able to have free hands when we needed them and backs that weren't aching!
Security was pretty breezy - we did have to detach our carseat but, that was no problem because it's really simple to do. We decided to gate check our car seat (If you do this, PLEASE use some sort of protective bag otherwise, you may see damage to your carseat! Airline workers don't seem to car much about $300 car seats :( Once we deboarded the plane, our carseat was waiting for us and we simply strapped our guy in and off we went. Super easy! I highly recommend this product. It has made my traveling days so much less stressful!

I love it. I have a 23 month old boy and i am 3 months pregnant. i just took a trip alone with my baby and had to stay in an airport for 6 hours. It help me a lot, he even sleep very confortable on it. It was perfect for my needs since I have strolers on the other end of my trip but not a biger car seat (babys grow so fast). It was the best choice.

Excellent approach to getting through the airport w/out a stroller. Airport security is a challenge since you may be asked to remove the QR wheels while unloading all other carry on baggage as it may not fit through the x-ray equipment. However removing quick release (QR) wheels is very easy. Due to the size of my seat it did not roll down the isle of the smaller commuter jets and I had to lift it to get it to my seat all the while maintaining an eye on my small child. The back plate can leave indentations in leather upholstery when installed in your vehicle.

I have to submit a review after travelling alone with my 11 month old. This was the best--I had one hand free to pull our wheely bag, hold my coffee, whatever. At the first airport it did not fit through the scanning belt, but they simply put it through another larger x ray machine, and on the return they hand scanned it, as I did not want to have to take it off the carseat. Both flights had open seats and I was able to carry the seat with wheels attached and child inside onto the plane and did not remove the gogo Kidz for the flight, just belted her in with a seatbelt extension. I was stopped many times by people asking where I had gotten it. I assembled it the night before and attached it to the carseat at the airport parking garage with my child sitting in the way back waiting...Was not hard. It's a must-have! We did not need to bring a stroller for this trip (borrowed one when we arrived) but I would just check the stroller in the future.

The Go-Go Babyz Travelmate worked very well on our recent trip. I simply took the wheels off and left it attached to the car seat and strapped it into the airplane seat. The travelmate strolled down the airplane aisle fine. I highly recommend this for any parent traveling with a child and car seat - it saves your body much wear and tear.

Best baby gear ever

I have the original GoGo Kiz that only worked with Britax. I'm so glad to see that they have a universal model now since I am thinking of getting a lighter carseat to travel with my 2nd child. After reading all of the reviews the only negatives I see are people that complained about removing the wheels at security. You do not have to remove it! TSA can hand check the seat for you if it won't fit through the x-ray machine. Check out the website:
http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/children/index.shtm it's the 2nd bullet from the bottom of the "At the X-Ray" section. I would print the page and travel with it to show them in case they give you a hard time.
Our GoGo is going strong after 3 years, and at least 20 trips!

This little contraption is amazing!! It made travel with my 2 toddlers a breeze. I did have to remove it from my car seats through security because it was just a bit too tall to make it through the scanner. That wasn't too big of a deal though considering how much more of a pain getting through the rest of DIA would have been without it.
Elitecarseats.com is really who deserves the praise though! I ordered the travel mate a week before I was due to leave for my trip and one of the springs on one of the wheels was faulty. I called Elite and they had another one shipped out to me as soon as I put the old one back in the mail. They have the best customer service of any on-line retailer I have ever worked with and I am always happy to come back here because I know I will be taken care of!!!

Decent travel option

We bought this for a recent trip to Colorado with our 1 year old daughter. Not needing to bring the stroller with us on this trip, it seemed like an ideal solution. There are definite pluses and minuses. I was afraid that she wouldn't like being wheeled at that level (would be scary) but she didn't seem to mind it. Thus it did make it easy to get her from the car, on the shuttle to the security check point. Which brings us to the major minus - we found it would not fit through any of the security machines when attached to the carseat (we have the Britax Diplomat), so you have to unscrew it from the carseat, which seems simple enough, but when you feel like you are holding up the entire security line, those screws feel like they are about a mile long. I think they could have either made the screws shorter, or the knobs a little bigger so it was easier to get on and off. We bought a seat for her, so the hope was that she would stay in her carseat for the plane ride. We left the travelmate attached to the carseat and just took the wheels off when placing on the airplane seat - not sure if that's why she wouldn't sit in her carseat or not, but on the way home, we took it off and she seemed to be much happier. I think it doesn't allow the carseat to recline as much when it is on.
Overall we are happy with our purchase, and if you have to lug the carseat with you on the plane it is a good option to cart both it and the kid with you at once. Just be prepared to unhook it from the carseat to get through security and know that it most likely won't wheel down the airplane aisles.
