Our Review of the Compass I-420 infant car seat

Compass' light and portable infant car seats are designed to be the ideal in safety, comfort, and simplicity of handling. The soft fabrics used to line the I-420 are easily removable and machine washable.

EPS Foam lining (the same used in bicycle helmets) in the I-420's side impact zone give it a higher degree of impact protection, while its deep seat, triple layer of padding, and a 5-point harness provide additional cushioning and safety. The Compass I-420's weighted base secures firmly to your vehicle's LATCH safety restraints, and has a simple knob adjustment system to set the car seat at its proper angle. Clearly labeled on the back of the carrier is a simple mechanism that allows you to remove the carrier from the base. Place the carrier back into the base correctly and an audible steel click informs you that your carrier is totally secure. Tug as much as you like, the carrier will not come free. My husband and I bought this seat because after hours of searching, this car seat had great reviews for both safety and comfort across the web and Elitecarseats had the best shipping rate and return policy if the seat didn't work for us. SOME HIGHT POINTS **The entire seat, not just the side impact zone, is lined in EPS foam. **The fabric is not only well made and durable but very comfy and padded. So many other seats felt flimsy and cheap to me. **The parts are solid and sturdy--metal to metal connections for locking the seat and base and no flimsy plastic parts to be found, again, like so many others out there. **The seat is lightweight and easy to carry oh and it's very hassle free to adjust the straps--both to loosen & tighten and change heights--it's all from the front save one simple step of sliding a "button" in the back up or down to adjust height. THINGS I WONDERED ABOUT & THOUGHT YOU SHOULD KNOW: **We had our local car seat tech check out our installation because we have a small car (toyota corolla). He was very impressed with the seat. He commented on the secure and easy fit to our car (we used the seat belt in the center position and required no extras to acheive the correct leveling), he liked the sturdy/solid base and the very safe & easily adjustable straps. **I read a lot of reviews that said finding a stroller adapter for the car seat was limited to the Zippy, however, Mountain Buggy makes a car seat adapter that fits the compass car seat and the Mountain Buggy Urban is an awesome stroller-we love it. **Finally on a purely aesthetic point, the metallic looking fabric is not so metallic as you might think--I was worried that it would be shiny and glitzy but it's very subdued and looks great with black. ---Hope this helps, we are absolutely thrilled with our purchase.

Nice Carrier

This Compass infant seat has some nice features. The way the straps adjust with no re-threading and the latch clips on the base unit are the best features. It is lightweight and the all weather boot is very nice. The seat feels well made and is nicely padded. It does not clip into a shopping cart and there aren't a lot of options for compatable strollers but I would purchase another one.

I had purchased two of these for my twin boys and couldnt be happier with them. The padding on the seat is supurb... MUCH MUCH better then the Peg Perego. It is also very easy to get the seat in/out of base. Removing the covers for washing is a breeze and the fabric has held up beautifully to several washings. The seats are light enough that my husband can carry both children, sleeping in their respective seats, at the same time. Also, we love the fabric pattern. We used the black Double Snap-n-Go with these seats as our "travel system" and everyone comments on what a great stroller we have!! Again, we can't recommend this car seat enough!
